Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced the squad that will participate in the Unity Cup tournament in London. Experienced names were included in the squad list such as captain Wilfred Ndidi, Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi, Moses Simon, Akor Adams and Terem Moffi.

Chelle also handed opportunities to several fresh faces, including Wrexham’s goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who recently switched his alliance from England to Nigeria. Others include defenders Emmanuel Fernandez and Igoh Ogbu, midfielders Raphael Onyedika, Tochukwu Nnadi and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, and striker Rafiu Durosinmi.
Some Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) players also made the squad, including Michael Atata, Elias Ochobi, Chibueze Oputa, Obinna Igboke, Aderemi Adeoye, Ayobami Junior and Tosin Oyedokun.
The Unity Cup will take place at Charlton Athletic’s The Valley. Nigeria will face Zimbabwe on May 26. The winner of the semi-final will then take on either Jamaica or India in the other semi-final.
Nigeria defeated Jamaica on 5-4 penalties to lift the Unity Cup title on May 31, 2025.

Chelle announce Nigeria squad for Poland and Portugal pre-World Cup friendlies
Eric Chelle has also announced the squad for the glamour friendlies against Poland and Portugal ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Several established internationals were named, including Alex Iwobi, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka and Paul Onuachu.
The Super Eagles will face Poland in Warsaw on June 3 before travelling to Leiria to face Portugal on June 10. Nigeria did not qualify for the World Cup but the friendlies serve as preparations for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which are scheduled to begin in September.
The Super Eagles clash against Madagascar, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau in Group L for a ticket for the continental tournament scheduled to hold in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in June 2027.
