The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying groups have been confirmed on Tuesday following official draw ceremony held at Cairo, Egypt. 48 nations have been named in 12 groups that will participate in the AFCON qualifying campaign, as nations prepare to play for a spot at the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

Defending champions Morocco were drawn in Group A alongside Gabon, Niger and Lesotho. Several groups are also expected to face tough competitions, including Cote d’Ivoire who will face Ghana, Gambia and Somalia in Group C.
Senegal, who won the 2025 title but had to forfeit to Morroco, will face Mozambique, Sudan and Ethiopia in Group J. Nigeria will face Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau and hosts, Tanzania in Group L.

The 2027 AFCON qualifiers will be played across three FIFA international windows due to limited time before the tournament. Matchdays one and two are scheduled to hold between September 21 and October 6, 2026, while matchdays three and four will hold from November 9 to November 17, 2026.
The final two rounds will be held from March 22 to March 30, 2027.
