FIFA has published the squad numbers for Ghana’s Black Stars for the upcoming 2026 World Cup following head coach Carlos Queiroz’s confirmation of his final 26-man squad. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia, and will begin their campaign in Ontario, Toronto, Canada on June 17 against the South American side.

Queiroz’ men are a mix of experience and youth, with several key players missing from the squad due to injuries. Mohammed Kudus, Alexander Djiku and Mohammed Salisu are notable absences due to long-term injuries. Ghana will take mostly inexperienced squad to the World Cup. Only 11 members of the squad were part of Ghana’s campaign at the 2022 tournament in Qatar where they were narrowly missed out on the Round of 16.
Captain Jordan Ayew is the only player in the squad preparing for a third World Cup appearance and will retain his iconic No. 9 shirt. Manchester City star Antoine Semenyo has been assigned number 11, Atletico Bilbao forward Inaki Williams will wear No. 19, while Villareal’s Thomas Partey takes No. 5.
With Andre Ayew omitted from the squad and Kudus out with injury, the No. 10 shirt has been handed to Coventry City forward Brandon Thomas-Asante, who will be making his first ever World Cup appearance.
