Shakira, Madonna & BTS to headline 2026 World Cup final halftime show

FIFA has announced global superstars Shakira, Madonna, and BTS  as headliners for the first-ever 2026 World Cup final halftime show. The World Cup final on July 19 will feature a landmark halftime show at MetLife Stadium, with a star-studded lineup including Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Martin unveiled the lineup for the 2026 World Cup final halftime show in a unique social media post, featuring iconic characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.

The inauguaral half-time show is also designed to raise significant funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, with the aim to improve access to quality schooling and football coaching for underprivileged children across the globe.

Shakira recently released the official tournament song, “Dai Dai”, alongside Afrobeat star and Grammy winner Burna Boy. Madonna is preparing for the July launch of her highly anticipated studio album, Confessions II. K-Pop stars  BTS continue their massive comeback after completing their mandatory military service and successfully launching their sixth studio album, Arirang in March.

FIFA also released a comprehensive list of entertainment programmes at the World Cup across all three host nations, starting with the opening ceremony at SoFi Stadium on June 12 featuring Katy Perry and Future. Michael Buble and J Balvin will lead performances in Toronto and Mexico City, respectively.

Rema and Tyla to feature at the 2026 World Cup opening ceremony

FIFA has confirmed that African global sensations Rema and Tyla will lead the opening celebrations at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament will kick of with three historic opening ceremonies across the three host nations, United States, Canada and Mexico.

Nigerian Afrobeat star  Divine Ikubo aka Rema and South African Grammy-winner Tyla will headline the primary U.S. ceremony at the Los Angeles Stadium on June A powerhouse roster including Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, and LISA of BLACKPINK will join them in the ceremonies.

Tyla will also feature alongside Latin icons J Balvin, Maná, Alejandro Fernández and Belinda at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on June 11. Canadian legends Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, and Alessia Cara, will appear at the BMO Field in Canada, alongside international star Nora Fatehi on June 12.
