The enterprising winger’s performance overshadowed the club’s struggles this campaign, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in the Championship.

However, the Ghanaian international has taken to social media to express his disappointment following the sides’ relegation.

“Appreciate all the support from the beginning of the season,” he wrote. “It’s disappointing to finish the season at this level. It’s not what we work for and it’s not good enough,” he posted on Instagram.

Leicester’s drop to the third tier marks a significant setback for a club with recent Premier League history, but attention will now shift to restructuring and mounting an immediate push for promotion.

Issahaku is expected to remain a key figure in that rebuild, with the Ghanaian winger likely to play a central role as Leicester aim to restore their status at higher levels of English football.
