He replaces Otto Addo, who left the position after a difficult run of results.

The experienced coach has signed a four-month contract and is expected to lead Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, where they will face England, Croatia and Panama.

Queiroz has already begun work, monitoring players in the domestic league, including attending Black Galaxies friendlies against Aduana FC and Heart of Lions.

He becomes the second Portuguese to coach Ghana after Mariano Barreto, taking charge at a time when the team is seeking renewed direction ahead of the global tournament.
