Family, teammates and officials gathered at the Assin Dansame Durbar Grounds in Assin Fosu, Central Region, to bid a final farewell to Dominic Frimpong, the Berekum Chelsea player who died following a robbery attack on the team bus.
Frimpong, who was on loan at Berekum Chelsea from Aduana Stars, was fatally shot after a Ghana Premier League match when armed robbers attacked the club’s vehicle.

Representatives from both clubs were present at the funeral, alongside officials from the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, in a show of solidarity with the player’s family.
During the ceremony, Aduana FC owner Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II donated GH¢100,000 to support the bereaved family, while Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars jointly contributed GH¢20,000.
Frimpong had signed for Aduana Stars at the start of the season before returning on loan to Berekum Chelsea in January in search of more playing time.

His death has shocked the Ghana football community, with calls for improved security for clubs travelling across the country.
The ceremony marked a sombre moment as family, friends, and the football fraternity paid tribute to a young career cut short.
