German top tier side FC Koln are working on signing Ghana defender Gideon Mensah in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old Black Stars left-back became a free agent after his contract with Ligue 1 side Auxerre expired on June 30.
Due to his involvement with Ghana at the World Cup in North America, the defender is yet to announce his next move.
However, the Germans are in talks with his camp and it is believed talks are far advance, with Mensah ready for a new adventure.

The former West Africa Football Academy player is seen as replacement for Kristoffer Lund, who returns to parent club Palermo following his time on loan at FC Koln.
Mensah has been one of Ghana’s standout performers at the World Cup in USA, Mexico and Canada, having played every single minute of the Black Stars’ games.
He is one of the leaders in Ghana’s team, wearing the armband following the substitution of Jordan Ayew in the first match against Panama.
Meanwhile, last season in France, Mensah made 30 Ligue 1 appearances as Auxerre survived the drop.
Ghana will face Colombia on Friday in Kansas City in the round of 32 of the ongoing World Cup.
