Argentina has announced a full star-studded 26-player squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The defending champions will look to win a second consecutive title and their third in their 19th appearance at the world’s biggest football tournament.
Head coach Lionel Scaloni announced the full squad on Friday, which include the iconic Lionel Messi who is also the player with the most caps (198) and most goals (116) for Argentina. Other key players include world best goalkeeper winner and Aston Villa star Emiliano Martínez, Enzo Fernández (Chelsea), Nahuel Molina (Atlético Madrid), Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan), and Julián Alvarez (Atlético Madrid).

La Albiceleste are in Group J and will begin their 2026 World Cup campaign with an opener against Algeria on June 16 at in Kansas City, Missouri. On June 22, they play their second game against Austria in Arlington, Texas before taking on Jordan in their final group game in the same stadium on June 27.
