Didi Dramani has stressed the importance of tactical discipline and decision-making rather than missed chances following Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 victory over Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts secured the win at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex through an early goal from Mawuli Wayo, but the performance drew detailed reflection from the head coach.

Dramani dismissed concerns about missed opportunities, insisting his focus remains on the finer aspects of the team’s play.

“No, I wasn’t angry about missed chances. That would suggest I don’t care, but I don’t speak about that,” he said. “I focus on the details, the small decisions, when to close space, when to step up, and when to keep pressure on the opponent.”

He emphasised that Hearts are a system-based side built on controlling space and the ball, rather than man-marking.

“We are a ball and space-oriented team. I don’t like to see players trying to man-mark outside the box instead of dealing with the ball and the space,” he explained.

The coach admitted that while these issues are regularly addressed, there is still room for improvement in execution during matches.

The win strengthens Hearts’ position near the top of the table, but Dramani’s comments underline his focus on refining performance levels as the season approaches its final stretch.
