Ghana’s new coach Carlos Queiroz says his immediate focus is on delivering success at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Portuguese was unveiled on Thursday in Accra, replacing Otto Addo following a run of poor results.
Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama before facing England, and will conclude their group fixtures against Croatia.
Speaking at his unveiling at Alisa Hotel, Queiroz made clear that the World Cup is his main priority.

“In this moment, 99.9% of my focus is on success at the World Cup,” he said.
The experienced coach has worked with clubs including Real Madrid and Manchester United, and has also managed countries such as Portugal and Iran.
At World Cup level, he guided South Africa to qualification for the 2002 tournament, led Portugal to the last 16 in 2010, and managed Iran at both the 2014 and 2018 editions.
His coaching career has also included spells with Egypt, Japan, Qatar and Oman, while at club level he’s coached Real Madrid and was Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant at Real Madrid.
