Thiago Pitarch was born on August 3, 2007 in Fuenlabrada, a suburb of Madrid, in Spain. He has dual nationality between Spain and Morocco, having inherited his Moroccan ancestry from his grandfather who was born in Al Hoceima.

Pitarch began playing football at a very young age. He began his youth career at Atletico Madrid Academy, where he spent five years. In 2018, he joined Getafe Academy before leaving for Leganes where he stayed until 2023.

Pitarch joined Real Madrid in 2023, where he played in the Juvenil C team before jumping to Juvenil B ahead of the 2024–25 season. He was later promoted to Juvenil A by coach Alvaro Arbeloa in January 2025, where he was a regular starter.

In July, Pitarch was promoted to the reserve team and in August, he signed an extended contract with the club until 2030.

On February 17, Pitarch made his senior debut as a substitute in the stoppage time of 1–0 away win over Benfica in the Champions League playoff. In his first start in the competition, Pitarch helped Los Blancos claim a 3-0 victory in the first leg of the last 16 against Manchester City. At 18 years and 226 days, he became the youngest player start twice in the Champions League knockout stages in the club’s history. He surpassed Brazil forward Vinicius Jr, who previously held the record, by 10 days.

Pitarch is eligible to represent Spain or Morocco at the international level. He featured for Spain at youth level, representing both the under-19 and under-20 sides. The young midfielder also in the 2025 Fifa Under-20 World Cup, helping La Rojita to the quarterfinals of the competition.

In a significant move that caught that made headlines, Pitarch declared his desire to represent Spain at the senior level.

”My dream? To debut with the senior national team and win titles,” he said to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) official channels.
