Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has resumed training with Besiktas ahead of the club’s UEFA Europa League third qualifying round tie against Czech side Hradec Kralove.
The Turkish giants confirmed the Nigerian midfielder’s return by sharing images from their latest training session, with Ndidi taking part alongside his teammates as preparations continued for the crucial European fixture.
Ndidi’s return comes after he missed Besiktas’ second qualifying round victory over Danish side FC Midtjylland because of an ankle ligament injury sustained before the first leg.
Injury setback behind him
The 28-year-old was ruled out of both matches against Midtjylland, but Besiktas progressed comfortably with a 3-0 aggregate victory to book their place in the third qualifying round.
His return to training is a timely boost for head coach Vincenzo Italiano, who could have one of his most experienced players available again as the Turkish side continue their bid to reach the Europa League group stage.
Although Ndidi has resumed full team training, it remains unclear whether he will be fit enough to start against Hradec Kralove after spending time on the sidelines.

Midfield boost for Besiktas
Since joining Besiktas last summer, Ndidi has become an important figure in the team’s midfield, providing experience, defensive stability and leadership.
The Super Eagles captain also made an impact in attack during the 2025-26 campaign, registering two goals and one assist in 31 Turkish Super Lig appearances.
With Besiktas preparing for another key European assignment, Ndidi will be aiming to regain full match sharpness and compete for a place in Italiano’s squad as the Black Eagles seek to move a step closer to the Europa League league phase.
