Galatasaray midfielder Renato Nhaga has praised Victor Osimhen for his leadership and support, describing the Nigeria international as a role model for African footballers.
The Guinea-Bissau midfielder said Osimhen has played an important part in helping him settle at the Turkish club since his arrival earlier this year.
Nhaga praises Osimhen’s influence
Speaking to Le Marca Sports, Nhaga said the Super Eagles striker inspires African players through his journey to the top of world football.
“Osimhen is a very important figure for both me and all African players. He’s someone who came from nothing and made it all the way here. He’s a huge role model.”
The youngster also revealed that Osimhen welcomed him warmly after he joined Galatasaray and has continued to offer guidance.
“He’s been supporting me from day one. He welcomed me very warmly. He always looks out for and protects me.”
Nhaga added that the striker regularly shares lessons from his own career to aid his development.
“By sharing examples from his own life, he helps me in my development.”
Nigerian star shines in Turkey
Osimhen completed a permanent move to Galatasaray last summer after an impressive loan spell and has established himself as one of the club’s key players.
The 27-year-old has scored 59 goals and registered 16 assists in 74 appearances across all competitions, playing a central role in Galatasaray’s recent successes.
Nhaga joined the Turkish champions during the 2026 winter transfer window and is regarded as one of the club’s emerging midfield talents.
