Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has confirmed that nearly his entire squad is available for selection ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 encounter with Colombia.
The Black Stars are set to face the South American side on Saturday at Kansas City Stadium, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake in what promises to be a tightly contested showdown.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Queiroz revealed that only one player has been ruled out of the match, leaving him with a near-full complement of options.
โRegarding injuries, 25 players are ready to play against Colombia. The only player who did not recover in time is Kojo Oppong Peprah,โ he said.
The only absentee is defender Kojo Peprah Oppong of OGC Nice, who failed to recover from a knock sustained in training. The 22-year-old had featured during Ghanaโs group-stage matches against England and Croatia, offering defensive stability with his pace and composure.
Despite the setback, the news comes as a major boost for Ghana, with Queiroz now able to select from an almost fully fit squad as they prepare for one of their biggest tests of the tournament.
Ghana, who last reached the World Cup knockout stage in 2010 before their historic quarter-final run in South Africa, will be aiming to write another memorable chapter when they meet Colombia.
Kick-off is scheduled for 01:30 GMT on Saturday at Kansas City Stadium.
