The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Jamaica to clinch their third successive Unity Cup title at the Valley Stadium in London on Saturday May 30. Alhassan Yusuf scored a brace in Nigeria’s 3-0 victory for the West Africans to continue their dominance in the tournament.

Yusuf opened scoring inside three minutes of the game, after capitalising on the chaotic scramble in the penalty area following a long throw-in. The Super Eagles maintained their dominance throughout, stifling the Reggae Boys’ attempt at an equaliser.
Then Femi Azeez, who scored a brace in his Super Eagles debut against Zimbabwe in the semis, delivered a perfect cross to Terem Moffi who headed home to double the lead. Yusuf stepped up again at stoppage time, delivering a masterclass goal to seal an emphatic win and lift the trophy for Nigeria.
The win marks a significant milestone for Eric Chelle who has never lost a match in regulation time since becoming Super Eagles head coach in 2025. As Nigeria reaffirms its status in international football, the Super Eagles who narrowly missed out on the 2026 World Cup, will focus their attention on the upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal in June.
